I’m going to make millions.
Do you ever have brilliant ideas? I know I do.
Things that, if invented, would revolutionize the world?
I’ve got at least three.
And I have decided to share them with you. (Only if you don’t steal them and sell the patents for millions, that is.) I figure by blogging these inventions, one day I can look back and say “see … I thought of that 1st!”
Electronic Recipe Cards
Let’s face it, recipe cards suck. They take forever to write out all the steps and ingredients. They always get messy while you’re cooking. Even if you’re a super-cook with extraordinary abilities of filing and organizing, it’s just a lot of work. (Not that I actually know anything about this, I don’t cook. I IMAGINE it would be terrible though!)

So how about this …. Electronic Recipe Cards. Typing is much faster and once they’re saved on your computer/some sort of program/online, you will never lose them again. They could also be printed out easily for sharing!
And … to top it all …. If I were to REALLY invent this, I would have a way that the program could sync to your TV (that is if you have one in or near your kitchen). This will make the recipes easier to read because you’re not having to decipher out your grand-grandmother’s wobbly writing on the cherry-rhubarb pie recipe card.
I realize by doing this, I risk offending many of you. Part of the fun of cooking (I assume) is the art of sharing traditions and passing recipes. Some would argue it’s not about efficiency, but I would say “no, it actually is.” So … what do you think?
Netflix for Books
The beauty of Netflix is that you can set up your queue of movies and then they come in that particular order (if available)
The hard part about the library or any bookstore is that when I walk in, I automatically get overwhelmed by the greatness and vastness of books. I always forget what I really really want to read and end up wandering for hours on end. (this sounds terrible, but it’s really not. I’m a nerd, I know)
So how about a service that is pretty much Netflix, but with books? I realize that this would cost more because of shipping and wouldn’t be quite as worth it because it’s easier to watch a 90 minute movie than to read a 300 page book …. But I still think I’ve got something here.
UPDATE …. I just googled “netflix for books” and apparently there are services out there like this. www.bookswim.com or www.booksfree.com I am still contending, however, that the service could be cooler. And WAY cheaper.
I thought about calling in NetBoox, but that just looks weird.
Sonic by the
I saved my best for last.
This could be the best invention.
Ever.
Ok … here we go.
Sonic by the
Like I said, brilliant, right???
Perfect for a long afternoon out on the boats when all you really want is a Route 44 Vanilla Dr. Pepper!
And in the non-summer months, the Sonic would be able to continue as normal with their landside business
And for all you fisherman out there, nothing satisfies your early morning cravings like a breakfast burrito when you’ve been fishing since 5am!
Ok … so who wants to buy these ideas from me? My lowest offer is $1 million for each.

ha...i love the electronic recipe card idea. I never look off of a card cause they are never in order, so it would take me an hour just to find it, and then trying to read it, or write it...no thank you. I always look off of websites and just keep my laptop on the table to look at it. SO i think that is a great idea:)
i love you and miss you; wish i could come out with blaire in april!
oh I love you Michelita, and im glad you were also my valentine by the way...
If you start the Netflicks for books, I will be your first and most dedicated customer.
And PS (I believe you will someday make your millions...)
I invented toe socks(then found out they already existed). I also invented a tablet you put in a bottle of water that makes it coke. Kinda like Alka Seltzer, but a refreshing beverage instead.
I also had a dream that I invented an electronic rolodex that worked like facebook.
I love all of your ideas! I would find them all very helpful. If you get them invented I will support you in your quest to make millions!
