luckily for me. there is a delightful used bookstore about 10 minutes from my place. unlucky for my budget, i have collected several (and by several i mean WAY too many) new/old books since January.
here is a sampling.
i'll start with a classic ....

... i was WAY unimpressed. do however go pick up My Sister's Keeper before the movie comes out. actually really good. the author always deals with some sort of question of ethics in modern society - very interesting.

especially within different cultures. Jhumpa Lahiri does that quite beautifully. although i'd have to say i liked her short stories in Interpreter better.

I finally read My Sister's Keeper. It was definitely worth my time. You and your reading books that make you a better person/ make you think. Someday I will be like that. Maybe. :)
"The Road" by Cormac McCarthy :) There is a movie coming out about it this fall...it is kind of gloomy but is very redemptive also!

I just finished Anna Karenina, by Mr. Leo Tolstoy. I'm also reading Tuck, which is the third book in a historical fiction series about Robin Hood by Mr. Stephen Lawhead.
