thoughts i'm thinking;
- i would love a stylist. and just one really good lesson on how to fix my hair. hmmm. i just don't have an OUNCE of those skills
- "walking in the light is not a manner of living a sinless life -- it's a manner of living your life exposed." wow. church this morning. still throwing this thought around.
- i'm not arriving any time soon -- i will write a book on this one day.
- i don't know a lot about music. but i'm recognizing how much i love when songs resolve. when they go from just a bit off - to on. when the key is tweaked - and everything just fits beautifully. i see redemption everywhere - but when music resolves, something in my spirit leaps. and i'm seeing that more often than not ........ they do resolve. for an example (and to taste what has been on repeat for me lately), listen to Dear John and Come Up Here by Jason Upton. (and while you're listening - will you tell me whether or not this is actually resolution in the musical sense?? i know what i mean and am trying to say - but it might not actually be the right music term - ha!)

Jason Upton definitely uses a lot of tension in his songs. On Come up Here, at the beginning has kind of an unresolved question feeling to it, then there is an actual key change starting with the words "come up here" which really emphasizes something different is happening. Then he creates a feeling of the song lifting or climbing and that's actually tension, but in a sense that it creates a feeling of yearning or longing in the song.
To me tension creates this feeling of incompletion. Depending on how you use it, it can then be used to eventually be resolved into feel good happiness, or remain pretty much unresolved and create this longing in you. I really like the latter. Listen to "Three Days Before Autumn" by Andrew Peterson and tell me what you think.

Completely and totally FALSE! I always look at pictures of you and wonder how your bangs always manage to look perfect and how you must have some killer hair genes or hair product, because you constantly have very ENVIABLE looking hair.
